I'm a Domestic Energy Assessor from Brighton & Hove, providing EPC certificates for properties throughout East and West Sussex, including Shoreham-by-Sea, Worthing, Lewes, Burgess Hill and Haywards Heath.
Being independent and local allows me to provide a personal and thorough service to my clients. This gives you the best opportunity to score a higher rating, and maximise your potential on the sales or rental market.
I also offer tailored guidance for landlords to help meet the changing Minimum Energy Efficiency Standards (MEES) regulations.
I offer clear, honest pricing with no hidden extra fees. No upfront costs - simply pay at the end of my visit.

An Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) is a legal requirement for anyone selling or letting a property, indicating the current and potential future energy efficiency of a property, as well as suggested improvement measures.
EPC consultancy and predictive modelling reimagines a property outside of the constraints of a basic EPC. This approach can save thousands, and is popular with Landlords seeking to comply with government regulations.
I provide RICS Level 2 Home Buyer Surveys through our parent brand, BN Home Surveys. This produces a detailed report on a property's condition, highlighting defects and risks to help inform your purchase decision.

I provide EPC certificates and domestic energy assessments in Brighton & Hove and across the Sussex coast - from Worthing and Lancing to Newhaven and Seaford - and inland as far as Burgess Hill and Haywards Heath.
With strong knowledge of local construction types, I regularly assess everything from Brighton’s bungaroosh and converted Regency flats, to Lewes flint‑walled cottages, Burgess Hill’s mid‑century and modern estates, and the mix of Victorian solid brick and cavity‑wall homes found throughout Worthing.
Being a local small business allows me to provide a dependable service that supports homeowners and landlords across Sussex - not a one-size-fits-all national operation. You deal directly with me, not a call centre or booking system, so you can speak to me personally before and after the assessment.
Rather than selling upgrades or products you don’t need, my advice is impartial, honest, and considered in the context of the building itself - with the understanding that some commonly suggested measures may be inappropriate or potentially harmful to certain construction types if applied without proper judgement.
EPCs shouldn’t be confusing, and yet too often people feel left in the dark. With BN EPC, findings and recommendations are explained when face-to-face, so you understand your result, where improvements will have the most impact, and which options are worth prioritising.

Whether you’re selling, planning improvements, or simply want to understand how energy efficient your home is, an EPC provides useful insight. It sets out your current rating, highlights opportunities to improve efficiency, and helps inform decisions about future upgrades, while stronger ratings can aid marketability and help support property value.

For landlords, EPCs are essential for compliance and planning ahead. BN EPC provides clear guidance on minimum energy efficiency standards (MEES), practical ways to improve ratings where needed, and support in understanding how future changes may affect a property’s EPC - allowing improvements to be planned sensibly rather than reactively.
An Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) shows how energy efficient a property is, using a standard rating scale from A (most efficient) to G (least efficient). It also includes recommendations to improve efficiency and reduce running costs, based on the property’s construction, heating, and services.
An EPC is legally required when a property is sold or let, and the rating must be included in sales or rental listings. There are limited exemptions, but most residential properties will require a valid EPC.
An EPC is valid for 10 years from the date of issue. A new EPC is only required if the existing certificate has expired, or if you choose to commission a new one following alterations or improvements to the property.
With BN EPC, the cost of an EPC certificate starts at £69 for studio flats. 1-2 bedroom properties are £79, 3-4 bedrooms are £89. For 5+ bedrooms or rural/unusual properties, just get in touch and I'll give you a quote.
Residential rental properties must currently achieve a minimum EPC rating of E to be legally let, unless exempt. This minimum requirement is scheduled to rise to C-rated in 2030, which is why many landlords are choosing to plan ahead and understand how potential changes could affect their properties and investment decisions.
